Escape

A few weeks ago, I got to take a little break to escape the day to day hustle and bustle that consumes our lives.  I got to tuck away in the mountains with about 300 highschoolers.  The perfect blend of relaxing and chaotic if you can imagine!

There were moments where I was so tired I could pass out, but at the same time every second was worth it.  The mornings spent in the rocking chair overlooking the mountains of Georgia made for the perfect setting for time spent with the Creator of it all.  Talking late into the evening with girls I love tremendously about big things and small things, about God and about life.  Talking of things like heartbreak, the desire to be truly known and cared about, the yearning for something more that all of us have deep inside.

One thing I know is that I love time spent with friends and I love being a friend to highschool girls.  I had the privilege of having a sweet friend Emily walk with me through the good, the bad, and the just plain ugly through my highschool years and for that I am eternally grateful.  Here are a few snaps from our week spent in the mountains!

That's right, we may be some ladies who like all things girly BUT we can hang with the best of adventurers out there! That means climbing telephone poles, and mountain tops, and such.
