Feeling Inspired::: Mary Oliver

This lady is my inspiration as of late.  I wouldn't say that I am a girl who is all into poetry and what not, but when I find an author I love..I'm all about it!  Wow does this woman have a way with words or what?!

She is known for her celebration of the natural world.  She is said to have once found herself on a walk without a pen and paper and later hid pencils in little places within the trees so she would never find herself in the same predicament. Ah, isn't there something magical about that? And just so simple?

Happiness.

“Instructions for living a life.
                                                                 Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.”

“I believe in kindness. Also in mischief. Also in singing, especially when singing
 is not necessarily prescribed.”

“Hello, sun in my face. Hello you who made the morning and spread it over the fields...
Watch, now, how I start the day in happiness, in kindness.”

“You must not ever stop being whimsical. And you must not, ever,
give anyone else the responsibility for your life.”

“Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable.”

 “You can have the other words-chance, luck, coincidence, serendipity. I'll take grace.
I don't know what it is exactly, but I'll take it. ”

I hope you find her words as refreshing as I do.  I am feeling inspired to start writing down little observations that maybe could even be crafted into poetry.  Who knows maybe I'll tuck some pencils into trees.  Nah, that's Mary's thing.  I'll have my own =).
