Thoughts on "dry seasons"

Sometimes in our Christian walk, it is common to refer to our seasons where we feel less-connected or distant from God as "dry seasons" or "desert seasons."   I have actually used these statements in my own personal life.  Hmmmm..... well lately God has been showing me that this is really a mindset.  In reality He is never distant or leaving us to be dry/in lack of him.  Reality is that I have the Holy Spirit, the living water, so how can I ever be dry?  Dryness is a mindset that seems oh-so-real; so real that it is believable.  But that is the point that we renew our minds, just like the word encourages us to do.  We renew our mind to the reality that if we are believers, then we have God dwelling on the inside of us and because of that we will never be lacking or dry.

  1. Hi Kelsey well said! Love your post and especially when you said, "Dryness is a mindset that seems oh-so-real." I have felt God inside my soul ever since the age of 3, I can't imagine my life without him and for that I feel so very blessed <3
