Laughter

One neat thing about laughter is that no single laugh is the same. Every person has their own unique laugh, and within that, each person even has multiple types of laughs that bust out at different occasions.

When I was in Peru, the family we stayed with was so happy. Carla laughed with a joy that I haven’t heard in any of my friends before. It might have been the Latin flair, but I think a lot of it was the freedom that she enjoys life with. It was simply beautiful. Sometimes in the midst of my quiet days, her laugh would carry across our compound and it would just bring a smile to my face. Seriously, I would be sitting in my house and hear her laugh drift across the property, and it was just the best.

Laughter makes the heaviness of even the hardest days a little bit lighter. If you just try it, I promise your day will be better. So my challenge to you is to be intentional about lightening up a bit.  I am trying it myself.  Not everything has to be a big deal, ya know.  Perspective is good on remembering to just let things go and lighten up sometimes!

People that make me laugh bring a joy to my life and I am just so thankful for those days and late nights filled with laughter. Laughter is just good.
