I have managed to keep my little plant alive thus far in 2013. Back in December I had a post titled: 23 before 24. On this post was a set of goals that I would like to accomplish before my 24th birthday and one of them was to keep a plant alive. Simple enough right? You would think so, except I have never managed to do it before.
Well I got this little guy from my cousin Taylor as a Christmas gift and here lies the perfect opportunity to make this goal a reality. I must say this was actually one of my favorite gifts because it was thoughtful and creative. AND she has helped me accomplish a goal...so far so good!
I like walking into my house and seeing my little terrarium of desert-like plants waiting for me on my barnwood kitchen table. There it is just smiling out of the window at the sun each day...such a symbol of life. Knowing that I have to tend and nurture and care for it to keep it alive is kind of fun. Also, I really like simply seeing the bright green of the little plants. It brings happiness into the room.
Cicero once said, Anyone who has a library and a garden wants for nothing. I don't know if only those things would make me happy, but I can appreciate the simplicity of that. Well said Cicero, well said.
